Footloose couldn’t be a better film for you because of the music and dancing. Why is it such a great time for dance?
It goes up and down in stages and right now is one of the biggest times dance has ever had. There’s so much exposure to it on TV and it’s cool to dance now, especially for guys when it was kind of sissy before. People are putting themselves on YouTube, it’s way more accessible, so people are getting better and better.
And it’s a feel-good film. Did it make you feel good?
So good we all feel like we’re nine months pregnant and ready to just give it out. You would think that being who I am and having just worked with Tom Cruise, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Alec Baldwin on Rock of Ages, I’d be a little intimidated. But, thanks to Footloose, I felt really confident in what I was doing and each member of the cast was intimidated by the next. So everyone’s ego went out the window. I owe this film everything.
As if you’re not working with enough stars, you’re dating one too in Ryan Seacrest. Are you very well advised?
He’s my go-to person when it comes to business stuff because he’s gone through it already and I’m just learning. There’s no competition at all.
How about with your brother Derek?
Oh no. He’s the most talented person I’ve met and I love him. We’re setting up a production company together.
It seems you’re a natural-born performer. Where did that come from?
Growing up with five kids in my family, I became a drama queen. I wanted to be the centre of attention, to get any kind of attention! Derek and I would create stories and make music videos, commercials and short movies down in the basement.
You also both lived in Britain for a while and went to famous London stage school, Italia Conti. How was that time?
I was ten and that completely changed my life. I spent five years there and was the head girl. I also met my best friend, Maude. We’re going to have some girl time in London this week.
When did you realise you could dance?
Right when I was ten, I guess, or even younger. I was competing against girls of 18 and worked my booty off – in heels and false eyelashes! It’s quite sad. I look at my kid pictures and think I look older than I do now.
What keeps you sane when pitching yourself doesn’t work?
I love to cook. I just go with the flow, play with whatever’s in the kitchen really, but I do want to take a cooking class for a month and really learn.
Did you fall for any top British

So much. I really miss HP
UGG Classic MiniUGG Classic Mini Boot sauce, oh, sausage bagels with HP sauce! I love bacon bagels too. I love Marmite and salt and vinegar crisps. And Lucozade! All the snacky stuff that kids eat during school. And then, of course, there is

If you were head girl, you must
UGG TasselUGG Tassel Boot have been good?
I was a very good girl. And I did stuff in the West End when I was little. I was in the first Harry Potter film when I was 11.
What are your memories of that film?
I remember taking a van to Gloucestershire and getting up really early. We would have school during the day and it was really cold in the studio. I remember always being freezing. And being mischievous.
Did you meet Daniel Radcliffe?
No, but I gave him something. Well, I didn’t actually personally give it to him. It was a Valentine’s Beanie Baby Bear called Valentino.
With a little love note?
Yeah, with a love note! I gave it to him for Valentine’s Day, and I’m still waiting to hear back.
